Regulation of Airbnb rentals in the 5th district in 2026

The 5th arrondissement is subject to the regulatory requirements applicable to the whole of Paris.
  • 90-day maximum: since January 2025, a principal residence can only be rented out as a furnished tourist accommodation for 90 days per calendar year. Airbnb automatically blocks bookings beyond this. Exceeding this limit carries a fine of up to €15,000.
  • Mandatory registration: all meublé de tourisme properties must be registered and assigned a 13-digit registration number, which is displayed on every advert. Registration has been carried out via Declaloc since May 20, 2026. Failure to do so will result in a €1,500 fine.
  • DPE: G-rated properties have been banned from tourist rentals since 2025. The threshold will rise to F in 2028, then to E in 2034.
  • Co-ownership: the Le Meur law allows co-ownerships to prohibit furnished tourist rentals by a two-thirds vote. We check this point before taking on any mandate.
  • Tourist tax: collected directly from travelers and paid to the local authority by us. No formalities required.
